Favorite fashion and beauty looks at the SAG awards!

CELEBRITY BEAUTY 3

If the Golden Globes is Hollywood’s best party, the SAG awards are perhaps its most appreciated honor: in many ways, you can buy an Academy Award (as Harvey Weinstein demonstrated time and again!), but SAG awards are purer, chosen by acting peers.

As usual, however, the awards are really all about the fashion.  I took Degree up on a party offer and–while in DC for my best friend Amy’s 30th birthday (there she is above, mere hours after discovering the sex of her new baby!)–threw a Degree Red Dress party with some friends, sipping VeeV cocktails (and juice in a martini glass for Amy) and enjoying at-home manicures.  We felt like a Degree commercial.  Amy sniffed the deodorant, which “decorated” the table, and said something along the lines of, “Wow!  This smells great!  I’ve never used Degree before, but I certainly will now!”

We think she might have a future career as a pitchwoman.

Now, onto the celebs!  My personal favorite look?  Drew Barrymore.  ::ducks::

The hair is Bardot sexy, the dress at once unique and timeless, and I’m digging the pale lip.  It wasn’t the most universally popular look of the night, but I think it’s a winner: score one for Drewsy.

Meanwhile, Dianna Agron from Glee had the night’s most flattering hair and makeup.  That blood red lipstick (not to mention softly flushed cheeks and prodigious amounts of black liner) has guaranteed I’ll be having some quality bathroom time this week trying to re-create!  (MAC lipstick in Ruby Woo is a popular, easy-to-wear choice.)

Do I even need to explain with Sandra Bullock?  Love. her.  She’s elegant, sophisticated and simply glowing.

Other favorite looks after the jump!

Sookie!  Anna Paquin may not be the world’s most beautiful woman, but she’s certainly gorgeous with this bouncy half-updo and her you-but-better makeup.

True Blood’s Deborah Ann Woll gives a masterclass in makeup for a redhead.  (Avoid a clashing lip, and play up the eyes!)

Penelope Cruz = perfection.

Mark Salling from Glee.  Just ’cause he’s cute.

Marion Cotillard from Nine

An Education‘s Carey Mulligan could not be cuter.  I like that she doesn’t try to be anything other than herself.  No extensions and slathered-on makeup necessary.  Her fresh-faced beauty is enough!

Isn’t Diane Kruger‘s look nearly identical to Michelle Williams‘ at the Academy Awards a few years back?  Regardless, she looks great…even though I personally can’t stand the mustard shade.

Love, love, love Christina Hendricks.  Everything about her.  Amazing.

I thought the same thing about the mustard dress, although Michelle did it better. And didn’t you think Nicole K took a step back in time to her old red bohemian self? I thought she looked GREAT compared to her pasty skin, translucent hair, and flesh-colored dresses of recent years.

I also thought Christina Applegate looked great, and Leah from “Glee” picked a younger look compared to the Globes with the pretty green and flowy hair.

I may be the only one, but I actually hate the pale lip trend. I thought Drew Barrymore looked great otherwise. She always stands out.
