NARS Press Event
Hi there! I’m Jordan Reid of RamshackleGlam.com, and I’ll be doing a little Jolie blogging about NYC-area beauty events over the next few months.
I like to think of my approach to beauty as “common sense with a healthy dose of experimentation” – I love playing around with new looks, and am willing to try just about anything from neon-pink lipstick to turquoise liner…but when it comes to my makeup, comfort and ease are of the utmost importance. Heavy foundation? No, thank you. Flaky mascara? See ya. And don’t even get me started on lip glosses that insist on lassoing your hair at the slightest gust of wind.
My top five Makeup Must-Haves? A vat of black liquid eyeliner, pounds of mascara, a fantastic concealer, and NARS Laguna bronzer and Angelika blush. I literally refuse to step foot out the door without those last two items adorning my face, so you can imagine how psyched I was to have the opportunity to cover the NARS Fall Preview event for Nadine.
I can’t tell you about their fall line until it launches in mid-July (check back then!), but I can tell you that I had the opportunity to check out their new, limited-edition lip gloss collection…and it is perfection in a tube (well, five tubes). Each gloss is based on one of the line’s most popular blushes, and I just about levitated with joy when I saw that yes, my much-adored Angelika has been transformed into the perfect bright (but not too bright) pink lip gloss with just a hint of shimmer. I will be wearing this gloss all day, every day this season – mark my words.
Other standouts from NARS’ new lip gloss collection? Super Orgasm (love that blush shade as well), a light pink that’s just made for the beach, and Oasis, a sheer plum that can be layered on when night falls for a summery pop of color.

Wow, you’re not kidding about the eyeliner.
On another note: What do you think of Georgia Jagger for Rimmel? What are your favourite looks from the FW 10/11 fashion shows? I’m kind of partial to Prada.
