CoverGirl announced today that Taylor Swift will be the face of their new NatureLuxe line, which launches in January. The line will include aΒ Silk Foundation, specifically designed to be “lightweight” and a Gloss Balm. It’ll be interesting to see if the foundation recaptures a bit of the market that has been lost to mineral makeup. I personally haven’t used a liquid foundation in years!
Of their new products, CoverGirl’s press release says:
“The NatureLuxe Silk Foundation is for the woman who wants a full-coverage foundation that looks polished, yet feels lightweight. The formula contains hints of natural jojoba and rosehip extracts along with cucumber water — which is a lighter, more luxurious alternative to a heavier feeling emollient. These ingredients were chosen due to their inherent properties: cucumber water is exchanged for a heavier emollient because it is refreshing and light-feeling to balance creaminess on application. Jojoba and rosehip extracts were chosen for their indulgent experience. The new Gloss Balm is a luxuriously lightweight blend containing mango butter, shea and other butters in exchange for heavier feeling emollients. The formula provides a light, silky application and a luxurious lip feel and finish that isnβt heavy or sticky.”

I know I’m in the minority with this, but I do not care for Taylor Swift. There is something very false about her persona. I find it quite ironic that someone known for packing on the makeup is the new face of a “natural look” line. They have really toned down her usual look for the advertisements – she now looks much younger rather than older. Now for a really important request – Kate Middleton’s makeup and beauty secrets! What’s the scoop, Nadine??
