A billion and one years ago, I was on the Tyra Banks show talking about blogging in the workplace. There were two guests that day: me, and a singer from Barbados that had a song climbing the charts. I was offered the chance to go next door (from my private dressing room into her private dressing room) and meet her, but I was like, “Eh. That’s okay.”

Yup. It was Rihanna.

I’ve gone back and forth about Rihanna over the years. Sometimes I like her; sometimes I don’t. What remains consistent, however, is my admiration for the beauty risks she takes. Whether she’s chopping off all her hair or dying it fire-engine red, there’s no doubt that she keeps it fresh. (And unlike the sense I get from other celebrities, I believe that Rihanna’s doing it because she actually wants to mix it up and gets bored easily.)
