I have to explain something here: so deep does my royal affection for Kate Middleton and Charlotte Casiraghi go that I’ve had them both on daily Google Alert for years. This means I’d get an email every single day detailing who wrote about them, with links to the stories.

Obviously, the Kate thing panned out–finally, the world shares my long-held obsession!–but Charlotte? Not so much. Even most of my fashion-y friends either still don’t know who she is or simply don’t care. Leaving me alone. Confused. Feeling like my “She’s so gorgeous!”-radar must be fatally off.

But, lo! Looks like the editors of Vogue Paris agree with me. Charlotte landed their September cover! Big deal here, people.

Charlotte’s photographed by Mario Testino over 20 stunning pages, wearing pieces by Chanel, Isabel Marant, Balmain and Gucci. Charlotte has always been something of a fashion plate: she was on Vanity Fair’s International Best Dressed List in 2006, has a close friendship with Karl Lagerfeld and is usually in the front row at his shows, and recently signed a partnership with Gucci to kit her out for her show jumping.

Not for nothing is she Grace Kelly‘s granddaughter! I’ve always thought she’s one of the most beautiful women of our generation, so it’s nice to know that I’m not entirely alone in that.

I’m right there with you on this Nadine! I’m one year older than Charlotte and she’s been my number one fashion icon since she was 14. Everyone I know who actually does know who she is thinks that she is THE most beautiful female of our time. I can’t believe it’s taken so many years for her to get some press in the US. Thanks so much for posting this, most of the bookstores I go to don’t carry French Vogue but there is one where I go in Memphis, TN when I’m there that does so I can’t wait to pick it up when I’m there on Monday!

  2. You are not alone, she is gorgeous. I posted the cover earlier this week saying how it was about time someone put her on a cover. I am happy to see you got some of the magazine’s inside pics. The editorial wasn’t online yet. She looks amazing.

she’s blooming quite beautifully doesn’t she? i’m glad she’s not turning out to be another stephanie (so far).

I agree 100%. Charlotte is possibly one of the most beautiful women in the world. And I didn’t think it was possible anyone could be as gorgeous as her beloved grandmother Princess Grace. She is truly a natural. That she has not been over-exposed may be a good thing.
