My favorite MTV Video Music Awards beauty looks

CELEBRITY BEAUTY 5
Britney Spears MTV Video Music Awards

Hooray for Britney looking beautiful and happy again! (WireImage/Mazur)

Okay, I’m currently watching the MTV Video Music Awards, and I feel about 75 years old. What is all this crap? No me gusta. (Thank God for Adele and the Foo Fighters. Please, Lady Gaga and Jersey Shore, go away.)

Anyhow, poorly written sketches, terrible production and annoying performances aside, there were some great beauty and fashion looks. A few of my favorites:

Beyonce pregnant MTV Video Music Awards

Beyonce is preggers, as you've surely heard by now. (WireImage/Mazur)

Katie Holmes MTV Video Music Awards

Have you noticed that Katie Holmes has been looking phenomenal these past few months? Gorgeous! (WireImage/Mazur)

Katy Perry MTV Video Music Awards

Digging Katy Perry's purple eyeshadow, though not so much the Manic Panic hair (WireImage/Mazur)

Adele MTV Video Music Awards

While I am seriously loving Adele's retro 60's hair, did anybody else notice her crazy claws during her performance? Too long, methinks. (WireImage/Mazur)

OMG, Britney looks so fresh and pretty! And I almost thought that was a picture of Katie Holmes pre-TomKat. She looked so ravishing!

I couldn’t even bring myself to watch 10 minutes of it! I said to my husband, “Am I really getting that old, or is this just terrible?!” Thanks for sitting through it for the rest of us and weeding out the good from the majority of awful!!

I know, I almost fell out of my chair when I saw Katie Holmes. She could not look prettier!! And, of course, always love me some clear-eyed Britney. :)

you are spot on! I definitely was scared of Adele’s nails. And Lil Wayne was disgustingly awful!

hahaha I couldn’t agree more Nadine! I’m 25, and I feel ancient too, because the majority of the new performers seem extremely tacky and just plain dirty in my eyes. Everytime I see these people in all thier glory I think of what Kate said in The Cutting Edge, “What a tragic commentary on our times.”
