SAG Awards: Rose Byrne wears a white hand-beaded 1970′s jumpsuit to the SAG Awards (and I kind of love it)
There’s something about Rose Byrne I really, really like. I mean, obviously, the jerk is totally gorgeous. But her allure is more than just skin deep–she has a certain delicate, retro, Old Hollywood quality to her so sorely lacking nowadays. She’d be a (brunette) Hitchcock muse, for sure!
The hair? Amazing. We’ll discuss. But I’m not sure how I feel about her Elie Saab hand-beaded white pantsuit. I give major points for originality–hand-beaded! Crystals! Bell-bottoms!–and if I squint my eyes and cock my head to the side, I kind of love it. It’s a gorgeous, cool outfit. But c’mon–if you or I showed up to an event in a high-waisted, bell-bottomed pantsuit made out of crystals, there would be no awards. There would be super awkward stares and insincere coos of, “You look so…fashionable!”
Any potential weirdness is redeemed, however, by the hair. The hair! The glorious, glossy, fabulous hair!
John Frieda stylist Harry Josh went for a Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface-meets-Anna Wintour vibe, and he used volumizer, a natural bristle round brush, and then velcro rollers at the crown to achieve it. Love!
