Glam Natural Hydrating Foundation

Do you remember the Sex and the City episode where Samantha’s skin burned bright red after a chemical peel? That’s how my skin feels right now as I’m using a prescription-strength retinoid cream.

I’m sure I’m exaggerating the problem in my head, but I’m taking every cautionary measure in the world to avoid scaring little children. That’s also why I’m currently in love with the Hydrating Foundation by GlamNatural.

GlamNatural is a natural company that focuses on “BodySafe” ingredients.  Their ingredients are not controversial and are easily pronounced.  The Hydrating Foundation contains Shea Butter, food-grade Dimethicone (a type of silicone often found in foundation and primer), Sunflower Oil, Berry Wax, Grape Seed Oil, Jojoba Oil, Iron Oxide, and Titanium Dioxide.  The foundation is also water-free, meaning it’s much more concentrated and pigmented than your average foundation!

This foundation is unlike any other I’ve ever tried.  It comes out a tad thick, but once warmed up, it melts onto your skin to provide a really nice yet natural full coverage. It applies smoothly without primer and lasts all day even without a setting powder.  It does have somewhat of a sticky texture but it’s not bothersome at all. Most importantly, it kept skin hydrated and balanced.

I was initially worried that since there are only six colors in the line, all of the colors would be either too dark or too pink on me.  Luckily that was not the case.  The color blended out smoothly to complement my natural skintones while camouflaging any redness (real or perceived).

The price for the Hydrating Foundation may seem steep at $65 a bottle, but considering how little you have to use, I think it’s worth the price tag. Consider it an investment in flawless, healthy skin!

  1. Really interesting article here. I’ve never heard of GlamNatural products and will have to check them out. If I like them, then I’ll definitely add this to one of my blogs.
