Duchess Kate wears red Alexander McQueen to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee river pageant
Entering the final stretch of my book edits, but I had to take a few minutes off today to watch part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee river pageant on BBC America and to scroll through Duchess Kate photos.

The royal family lines up on the banks of the Thames
To celebrate Queen Elizabeth‘s 60 years on the throne (she was crowned 60 years ago yesterday!) Kate wore a gorgeous red Alexander McQueen dress, a Sylvia Fletcher hat featuring a red maple leaf (in a nod to Canada), a Streathearn tartan scarf (because she’s the Countess of Streathearn in Scotland), a dolphin brooch, an Alexander McQueen clutch, and Kate’s trusty old LK Bennett Sledge pumps.

Meanwhile, the Queen looked adorable in a white Angela Kelly coat and dress.

Wearing a white Angela Kelly coat and dress. Do you think she calls it the Me Jubilee?
Kate’s family also got to join in the fun…

James, Pippa and Carole Middleton
As did Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting them, and I while I’ve always liked them and thought they were lovely, they are REALLY starting to grow on me. Here’s Princess Eugenie (with Boris Johnson) on the Thames:

And here’s Princess Beatrice earlier in the day’s celebrations:

Looks like it was quite a day–wish I could have been there!
