I submitted my book edits to my agent yesterday, so I have now re-entered the world. I have a trillion posts that I want to write, so to ease myself back in the game, we’ll start with the easy stuff: Duchess Kate, pretty outfits and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. I’m sorry if you’re sick of it! But this weekend really was like Christmas for me – I wish I could have enjoyed it freely, without any pesky work getting in the way.

I mean, c’mon. They’re the cutest.

William and Kate at the Jubilee celebrations

Ignore Kate’s crazed face here, and focus on how gorgeous her Jane Taylor hat is:

Hasn't Harry grown up nicely? Rawr.

I really can’t imagine how surreal it must be to drive through the streets of London in an open carriage with footmen as people cheer.

Just another day, hanging out in a carriage

And from the back, another great view of the dress, plus Kate’s cascading curls. Reminiscent of Pips the Hips!

All the royals were there, including the new wives like Autumn (Kelly) Phillips and Sophie (Winkleman) Windsor, as well as the Yorks. Here’s Princess Beatrice, looking very cute, although I wish her dress were a tad more flattering at the waist. Still, I like the fashion steps they’ve been taking recently and I’d like to see more from them!

And here’s one of my favorite things of the weekend, style-wise: Princess Eugenie‘s Union Jack nails. A tad tacky? Sure. But I still think it’s great.

Eugenie also looked amazing at another event over the weekend, wearing a bright red dress. I’m going through a huge red phase myself, wearing it as often as possible–especially on dates. (Who can resist a blonde in red?? Apparently, lots of LA boys, ::grumble grumble grumble::).

I’m sad that the Jubilee Celebrations have come to a close. It really was a magical weekend! If you haven’t seen it yet, check out this Jon Stewart clip, which made me laugh out loud about 7 times.

  1. Welcome back to the world, Jolie! So happy to see you back! I look forward to reading your book. Gosh, did you ever think that you would be not only an author, but an author with several books under your belt? Huzzah!

On a different note, Kate just keeps getting more and more breathtaking with time. Her figure, hair, skin, fashion choices — the universe will sing Hallelujah when she becomes queen. Can you imagine?!

    Salut,
    Marjorie

Thank you so much, Marjorie! Hoping the agent likes, the book gets sold, and you have a chance to read it sometime next year. :)

I agree! Kate has always been adorable, but she’s really been shining recently.
    xo!

I love Kate, but meow … Prince Harry, hellooooo! Nadine, one day if you’re ever looking for material for your blog and having a tough time, I would suggest having a post (or four) devoted to him. I think readership would skyrocket. ;) Or at least pings from my IP address.

And I too am looking forward to your book! So exciting!

    High five, girl!
    Jenn
