Screen Actors Guild Beauty Trend: Old Hollywood Waves
One trend popped up over and over at the 2013 Screen Actors Guild awards: old Hollywood waves! Let’s see, we’ve got…
My girl Jennifer Lawrence:

The Impossible‘s impossibly lovely Naomi Watts:

Jessica Chastain, looking like a peppy Jessica Rabbit:

Not my favorite actress, but still looking pretty fab here — Amanda Seyfried:

A smoldering Jennifer Garner:

And the eternally sexy Sofia Vergara:

Getting beautiful, old-school Hollywood waves is a hell of a lot easier than you’d think.
1) For me, the trick is to anchor the hair with a styling product like volumizing mousse before blowing dry (if you air dry hair, the waves will look beachy, not sleek and smooth).
2) Once hair is dry, use a curling iron or hot rollers and only curl the hair from eye-length and below, keeping the hair around your face straight.
3) For extra drama, create a deep side-part before curling.
4) Once you’ve finished curling, brush out hair, arrange curls, and then spritz with hairspray.
Oh, and it’s neither waves nor beauty, but my favorite head-to-toe look of the night? Marion Cotillard, in a blue and white Dior Haute Couture gown. I think the dress is fun and flirty, and I’m seriously digging the sleek hair, too.

I have a major Girl Crush on Jessica Chastain. We saw Zero Dark Thirty last weekend and she’s pretty fabulous. She makes me want to go redhead.
I am IN LOVE with Marion Cotillard’s dress. Definitely my favorite as well!
