One of my all-time favorite products: BareMinerals Clear Radiance

When I was a kid, I loved reading cheesy teen thrillers by authors like L.J. Smith, R.L. Stein and–my favorite–Christopher Pike. (I was so obsessed with Christopher Pike, in fact, that one summer while in Menlo Park, I actually biked to the bookstore every day for 2 weeks in anticipation of his latest teen thriller.)

Anyhow, one of the books featured a girl who makes a deal with a vampire or a witch or something (it’s been 20 years, people, details are fuzzy!) and blossoms from ordinary-looking to extraordinarily beautiful. She’s still the same girl with all the same features, but after she makes the deal, her skin glows and she radiates beauty. It’s her…but simply better.

I always think of that silly book when I put on BareMinerals Clear Radiance, which is one of my all-time favorite products. It’s a sheer minerals powder with a faintly pink tinge, designed to made your complexion look dewy, radiant and pretty. You know how they used to put Vaseline on the lens in old-movies to fuzz up the screen and make the starlet look heartbreakingly beautiful? That’s what Clear Radiance does. Your skin looks 100 million times better with a light dusting. (And, apparently, it has multiple uses! I’ve heard of people mixing it with lipgloss, dusting it on collarbones, using it as eyeshadow, etc.)

I go through phases where I forget about Clear Radiance and its insane miracle beautification powers. Inevitably, however, I always come running back–and Clear Radiance never, ever lets me down.
