The most exciting part of fashion, in my opinion, is couture: the embodiment of fashion as art. The Spring 2014 Couture Shows are currently raging in Paris (where else?), so I combed through the looks to find a few favorites to show you.

While in London, E. and I visited Kensington Palace to William-and-Kate-stalk, as well as to see the Fashion Rules exhibition featuring clothing of famous Kensington Palace residents Princess Diana and Princess Margaret. It was a Jolie dream.
For years, I didn’t care about fashion. I’d be rocking smokey eyes and edgy mullets until the cows came home, but when it came to my style sense, I essentially had none.
This, despite my first job being in fashion at a magazine, mind you. (Okay, it was a men’s magazine–FHM–but still.)
I had an epiphany last year that fashion does matter and that, rightly or wrongly, people will absolutely judge you based on how much (or how little) care you’ve put into your outfit. You don’t need to spend billions of dollars on a Prada this or a Gucci that, but attention to detail goes a long way. That, and some really killer accessories.
Okay, so this made me giggle.
Upon seeing my engagement photos, one of my friends who’s been off the radar for a couple weeks texted me and said, “Congratulations! So excited for you!! I have to be honest: for a split second, looking at your photos, though I thought you were topless. It was just the shirt, obviously.”
Yes, A. we were in France, the land of l’amour and lingerie…and no, I was not topless. It just so happens that, underneath my peach colored shirt, I was wearing my Wacoal Smooth Complexion T-Shirt Bra, designed to effortlessly blend into and match your skin tone.
