When I was meeting my friends in London for dinner and drinks, I had just one request:
Take me where the royals go.
Cut to Wednesday night in London, when E.and I met up with my friend K. at an Alpine-themed restaurant on Kensington High Street called Bodo’s Schloss. The entrance to Bodo’s Schloss is, literally, next door to the driveway into Kensington Palace where William and Kate live. Like, there’s William and Kate’s driveway next to the brick column…and here, five feet to the left, surrounded by pine trees, is Bodo’s Schloss.
Elegance abounds at The Kensington Hotel, where afternoon tea is served in the lobby, the bartender at the Aubrey Restaurant & Cocktail Bar serves the best martinis in London, huge bay windows look out onto Queens Gate, and huge king-sized four-poster beds underneath crystal chandeliers make you feel as if you’ve stepped back in time.

Everything about our experience at The Bloomsbury Hotel was just perfect: when you walk through the front doors, there’s the most seductive red currant smell thanks to the candles inside the entrance. The lobby has flowers everywhere, the bedrooms are equally opulent and cozy, and it’s surprisingly roomy–especially for London!
