Black Out With Bioré

“No.”

It’s one of the hardest words for me to say.

I’m come to realize that a big personal failing is a people-pleasing desire to make others happy, even when it’s less than convenient. Yes, I’ll come to your party, even though it’s an hour cross-town in traffic! Sure, I’m free for dinner despite wanting to crawl into bed and spend quality time with my DVR! Well…I’m up to my ears juggling projects…but, okay, why not, I’ll take on that assignment, too!

Over the years, I’ve tried to get better at carving out personal time and not making apologies for occasionally being a little selfish, just for the hell of it. After all, we all need a little “me” time!

When Bioré asked me to partner with them for the #BlackOutWithBioré campaign, I was super excited: an entire evening in doing nothing but girlie indulgence, without the needy ping-ping-ping of my cell phone? Count me in!

Last night, I hid the iPhone, unplugged the computer, and got back to beauty basics: after cleansing with Bioré Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser and using the new Bioré One Minute Self Heating Mask with Natural Charcoal, I lit candles, drew a hot bath, and shut out the world. Pure bliss. (This may or may not have been followed by a marathon of Sex and The City reruns, which I can neither confirm nor deny.)

When was the last time you said ‘No’ to all the noise and actually did something wonderfully indulgent for yourself? Do tell, do tell!

Disclosure: While this post was sponsored by Bioré, as always, all opinions remain my own.

I like that last picture…ha-ha. Cute! So, how did those Bioré products work out for you? I was interested in that line because of the charcoal. I thought the charcoal might be pretty effective at drawing out impurities.
