Right now, I’m in what could easily be considered paradise: Rancho Valencia, a five-star Relais & Chateaux spa-and-tennis resort about 2 hours south of Los Angeles and half an hour north of San Diego.

Epic spa? Check. World-class tennis? Check. Casitas featuring private jacuzzis, fireplaces, Frettte robes, and 600 thread count sheets? Check.
