Similarly to the frenzy caused by Angelina Jolie reapplying her Chantecaille lip gloss at the 2011 Golden Globes, when Ellen DeGeneres pulled a lip balm out of Lupita Nyong’o‘s purse at Sunday night’s Academy Awards, it caused a run.

Clarins has announced that Lupita’s lip balm–Clarins HydraQuench Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm–has sold out everywhere as a result of the lucky Oscars product placement. (But it appears to still be available here.)

Hopefully, Lupita had a new lip balm sent to her directly by Clarins. After all…she gave hers to the pizza delivery man as a tip.
