I’m a few days late with the news, but I find it endlessly glamorous that Charlotte Rampling has been named the new face of one of my favorite makeup brands: NARS Cosmetics. NARS is gearing up for their 20th anniversary in September.

Sixty-eight year old Charlotte is English, but she’s beloved as a French icon and has long been one of the muses of François Nars. François was quoted in WWD talking about Charlotte, where he said:

“She is a natural beauty that feels strong, yet relatable. Charlotte’s ability of transformation is unparalleled. Whether captured in pieces of artwork, through the lens of a magazine photographer or on film and the big screen, she had an amazing power to encompass a character…I remember Dirk Bogarde referencing Charlotte’s ‘fabled look’ because of the combination of her beauty and withering gaze. This is what makes her an endlessly watchable mystery.”

Charlotte’s portraits for NARS will be shot by Francois Nars himself.

Now all I need is for somebody to snap up fellow 60’s French icon Françoise Hardy, and I will be a very happy Jolie, indeed.
